For endless outdoor fun and a casual-cool Pacific Northwest vibe. On the eastern edge of the Cascade

Range, Central Oregon’s Redmond and Sunriver are ideally located for mountain-related activities. Manson, Washington,

a bit more than three hours east of Seattle, is set next to Lake Chelan, where boating, golf, snowshoeing, and other

pastimes are popular. And each of these regions has plenty of happening restaurants at which to relax and refuel after

a day with Mother Nature.

w

Oregon and Washington, Inland Areas

Willamette Valley:

There are more than 400 wineries scattered throughout

the area, which is known for its pinot noir in particular. Many can be found

around the cities of Salem and McMinnville. (2:30 from Redmond)

“A fun stop on the way [to Manson] is

Leavenworth, which is a Bavarian

village — tons of shops, restaurants,

and German beer in this mountain

town right off Highway 2 …There is

good golfing [near Manson], including

Bear Mountain Ranch and Desert

Canyon.”

— PeterO

The High Desert Museum,

north of Sunriver in Bend,

features a compendium of

exhibits — wildlife, art,

history — that tell the

unique story of this area’s

people and environment.

Check out a real

stagecoach, watch the river

otters frolic, tour a family

ranch, and much more.
