STICK ’EM UP!
During regularly scheduled French Lick
Scenic Railway trips, passengers travel
through a 2,200-foot-long tunnel and
see the edge of Hoosier National Forest.
It’s an enjoyable ride on the rails, but a
pretty laidback affair. On the Wild West
Hold-ups excursions, though —which
take place on select dates this fall —
the excitement factor ratchets way up
when a band of Lost River Renegades
descends on the train with plans to steal
the “payroll strongbox.” Fortunately,
local marshals have plenty of experience
dealing with these bandits and will do
whatever it takes to ensure delivery of
the cargo while you sit back and enjoy
the Old West–style show.

The Le Petit Chef: 3D Dining
Experience at The CIA at Copia
takes dinner shows to a whole new
level — or, more accurately, a whole
new
dimension
. During the six-
course meal, the intrepid Le Petit
Chef’s adventures are projected
on your table in lifelike 3D ani-
mation. The entertaining vignettes
provide fascinating insight into
Marco Polo’s spicy journey along
the Silk Road, which, in turn,
forms the entire dinner experi-
ence: a flavorful extravaganza that
includes plates ranging from a
tuna salade nicoise tart and veg-
etable tagine to coconut curry
shrimp and maitake mushrooms.

ALL THAT JAZZ
Jazz lovers — and lovers of good times in
general — should make note of the rel-
atively new music celebration that gets
fingers snappin’ and toes tappin’ in the
Old Pueblo every January. Launched in
2014, the Tucson Jazz Festival — taking
place Jan. 10 to 20, 2020 — has quickly
become a favorite destination for some
of the art form’s top names. For example,
2019’s lineup featured performers such as
Trombone Shorty, Bobby McFerrin, Asleep
at the Wheel, and more. Plus, the concerts
take place at various downtown venues that
are within walking distance to a range of
eateries and fun shopping spots.
