The Cubs finally won it all in 2016, boosting civic pride and creating a great buzz for travelers. Not that Chicago
needs the Cubs’ bump — outside of World Series victories, there’s never a dull moment here. And this year is
an especially good time to visit, as 2017 has been deemed the Year of Public Art in Chicago. Between festivals,

— Explore the city and the robust flavors

exposition. Interact with expert builders, admire the amazing creations

SummerDance
— Beginning in June, the city’s Spirit of Music

Chicago International Film Festival
— Indulge in the bold
works of young filmmakers from around the world.

A new family-friendly Branson attraction is bringing zip lines,
rock climbing, and other outdoor adventure activities indoors.
Fritz’s Adventure boasts an 80,000-square-foot interior deco-
rated in bright colors and filled with a wide range of activities,
from a parkour area and laser room to a large ropes course and treehouses. There are also faux
brick buildings to scale, a full-size water tower, high-flying suspension bridges, utility poles to
climb, slides, tunnels, and tubes. A restaurant on the upper level overlooks the fun below.

FARM DAY
For a bit of respite from the theme parks and historical attractions, plan an
outing to one (or more) of the farms within an hour’s drive fromWilliamsburg.
In Surry, College Run Farms has a U-pick blueberry field and homemade ice
cream at its farm store. In Mathews, at Bentwaters Farm, you can take craft
courses, buy handwoven items, and see the resident sheep, goats, rabbits,
and chickens. And closer to your home base, Williamsburg’s Bush Neck
Farms offers U-pick apples, blueberries, peaches, and pumpkins.
