56.4 Million

Your itinerary will likely revolve

around children, so leave time

for one date night. If you can’t

enlist grandparents to watch

the kids, you may be able to

take advantage of babysitting

referral services available at

some Orlando-area resorts.

Where to go? The Venetian

Room is a very romantic spot

not far from Walt Disney World.

Orlando

is the

U.S.’ most popular

destination, followed

by

New York City

.

Central Florida is well known for

roller coasters and princess

encounters.

But a little more than an

hour south of Orlando, the rural community

of

River Ranch

provides travelers with a

refreshingly rustic vacation setting where

activities are more about getting in touch

with an older world than a fantasy one.

River Ranch Musts

1.

Take a scenic horseback ride, and then

settle in for the weekly Saturday night

rodeo, complete with calf roping, bull

riding, and more.

2.

Drive over to Lake Wales for the day to

meander through Bok Tower Gardens and

explore the historic downtown.

3.

Go for a hike, paddle a canoe (or kayak),

or bring your binoculars for a morning of

bird watching in Lake Kissimmee State

Park.

Kennedy Space Center:

Much more

than a museum, the center is home to

an Astronaut Training Experience,

Children’s Play Dome, Shuttle Launch

Experience, and other interactive

exhibits. (1:00)

Daytona Beach:

It’d be a shame to

travel to Florida and not spend a day

on the beach. With 23 miles (37 kilo-

meters) of accessible shoreline,

Daytona has a perfect strand of sand

for everyone. (1:00)

Tampa:

Check out the Tampa

Museum of Art downtown or have a

Cuban sandwich and devil crab cro-

quettes at Ybor City’s Columbia

Restaurant. (1:25)
