A Reunion to Remember

MARIE HILL

|

HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA

When Marie Hill and her four siblings decided to plan a big trip

together and bring along all of their children — 22 in total —

they knew they would need to secure multiple units to make it

work. So they put in requests for exchanges at Marriott’s

Monarch at Sea Pines on Hilton Head, South Carolina, and

much to their delight, the five units they needed were all con-

firmed. “Family arrived throughout the day by plane and cars,”

Marie says, with people traveling in from six different states.

“New family members were introduced; great homemade food

was masterfully prepared buffet style.” Some took advantage

of local excursions, heading out for day-trips to shop, kayak,

fish, and go horseback riding. But most of the group barely left

the resort, happy to take advantage of the on-site amenities and

kick back, reminiscing.

Up Close With Nature

JACQUE AND CHRIS LEONARD

|

SINGER ISLAND,

FLORIDA

Every year, Jacque and Chris Leonard place an exchange

request for their family’s summer vacation. Yet for their 2015 trip,

they were concerned that their request — which was limited to

Fourth of July week — might be difficult to fulfill. As luck would

have it, the Leonards got just what they were hoping for: a week-

long exchange to Marriott’s Ocean Pointe, located in Palm

Beach Shores on Singer Island, Florida. It “felt more like a

Caribbean escape than a U.S. destination, with its laid-back

atmosphere and open-air restaurants and bars,” Jacque says of

Singer Island’s vibe. The family of four enjoyed learning about

the sea turtles nesting nearby and, at one point, the couple’s son

spotted a manatee, and the whole group was able to quickly

don their snorkel gear in time to swim alongside it. Jacque adds:

“Our week chilling as a family couldn’t have been any better.”
