Anniversary Escape
MADELEINE BAYARD AND JARED KLOSE
BELIZE
Having admired a beachside Interval resort in Belize for years, Madeleine Bayard
and Jared Klose thought it would be challenging to secure an exchange to the
property. But as their 10th anniversary approached, they decided to give it a try.
Lo and behold, they got their exchange — on the exact week of their anniversary.
Leaving their 1- and 4-year-olds with their grandparents (also Interval members),
the couple was able to take their first vacation alone since their children were born.
Together they explored the ruins of Xunantunich, went cave tubing and kayaking,
and dined on a pier. They also enjoyed running on the beach, practicing yoga,
and viewing an array of wildlife amid Belize’s famously clear waters. And their
resort didn’t disappoint either. It “exceeded our expectations, with three pools,
two swim-up bars, friendly and helpful staff, excellent excursions and guides, and
a large property with great views from every room,” Madeleine says.

HELEN WANG
CATSKILLS, NEW YORK
Following a fun-filled weeklong exchange to New York’s Catskill Mountains,
Helen Wang happily gave in to her two sons’ pleas for a return trip. “We had
a blast again during this time’s visit as we expected!” Helen says. The family
of four took full advantage of the wide range of activities offered on-site:
“Every day, we enjoyed bowling, pool games, ping-pong, bocce, and shuf-
fleboard games together,” she says. The kids dove headfirst into bumper
boats, bowling, and kayaking, while mom enjoyed Zumba classes and danc-
ing the cha-cha with her husband. Venturing to nearby attractions, the family
learned about the history behind the Woodstock music festival at the
Museum at Bethel Woods and visited a nearby farm, where they gathered
eggs and fed chickens and goats. “Overall, we had a great time,” Helen says.
“We recommend this resort to every family who is looking to spend quality
family time together.”
