Island-Hopping in Hawaii

Longtime vacation owners Joey and Mary Ann Bautista decided to
exchange their home resort on Maui to explore another Hawaiian
island for their family get-together. “I was so happy when Interval
made the exchange for us with just one phone call!” says Mary Ann,
who stayed at Marriott’s Ko Olina Beach Club on Oahu with her
husband, two daughters, mother, aunt, and her oldest daughter’s
boyfriend. The group spent a lot of time outdoors, exploring different
parts of the island — from sightseeing Kualoa Ranch Private Nature
Reserve to hiking Diamond Head to watching the waterfalls at
Waimea Valley. They also visited several beaches, including Lanikai
Beach, and had a professional family portrait taken by the Ko Olina
lagoons. Mary Ann and one of her daughters also celebrated their
birthdays on the island. “It was a special time, since my daughters
came back from college and we [had] not been [together] since
the holidays last year,” recalls Mary Ann. “Truly, a very memorable
vacation experience for our whole family.”
Unforgettable Madeira

Tom Greco made an exchange to spend a week on Madeira.
“I stayed in Funchal and was able to visit the entire island,” says
Tom, who enjoyed his vacation at Royal Savoy Resort. “The [weather
and landscape of the] island [varies] from warm and sunny sea-
level beaches to very high, cold, and cloudy [cliffs, like the 6,109-foot]
Pico Ruivo,” he explains. During his trip, Tom explored the local
wine region, went hiking, and played a round of mountainside golf at
Santo da Serra Golf Club. “[It was] an amazing adventure seeing this
exquisite island, meeting the people of Madeira, eating the food,
and drinking the wine,” he says. “This was one for the books.”
