Vacation Celebration

ROGER AND KATHY BOETTGER

KAILUA-KONA, BIG ISLAND, HAWAII

For 10 years, Roger and Kathy Boettger had been planning

a Hawaii vacation with their daughter Katie and granddaughter

Abby. When Abby was a baby, she loved to gaze at the beau-

tiful colors of a Hawaii photo that decorated Kathy and Roger’s

home, so they made a promise that one day the family would

travel together to the Aloha State. The trip would be to celebrate

three milestone birthdays among each generation — Abby’s

10th birthday, Katie’s 40th birthday, and Kathy’s 70th birthday.

When the time came, the Boettgers exchanged their home resort

through Interval to spend a fun and relaxing two weeks at The

Kona Coast Resort in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island. The family

was finally able to experience their dream vacation, participat-

ing in fun-filled activities and cultural encounters. “We enjoyed

exploring, horseback riding, snorkeling, and one of the island’s

luaus,” says Kathy. They even tasted some regional treats. “We

sampled poke, mango, Kona coffee, and the amazing white

pineapple.” It was truly an unforgettable trip for the Boettgers.

Fun With Friends

SCOTT AND JAN MACK

ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS

Scott and Jan Mack always exchange their home resort for a

stay on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. “Sometimes we

go with family, other times with friends,” says Jan. Their good

friends, Tammi and Bob, who introduced the Macks to timeshare

many years ago, accompanied them on this trip. “Since they live

in South Dakota and we live in Texas, sharing our timeshare

vacations is a great way to get together,” says Jan. The group

stayed at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove, situated on picturesque

Pacquereau Bay, on the south side of St. Thomas. They enjoyed

the sunny retreat and spent time swimming, relaxing, and taking

in the beautiful island views. “Having friends with timeshares is a

great way to double your vacation pleasure,” says Jan. The four

have already planned their next trip together.

Adventures in South America

REBEKAH AND NATHAN TAYLOR

SANTA MARTA, COLOMBIA

Since their wedding nine years ago, Rebekah and Nathan Taylor

have traveled abroad every year. This time, the couple brought their

1-year-old daughter Scarlett along on the adventure. “It was her first

time traveling internationally, and we decided to go to Santa Marta,

Colombia,” says Rebekah. The Taylors made an exchange to Zuana

Beach Resort. “It’s a beautiful place on the ocean surrounded by

mountains, with nice beaches, pools, restaurants, and activities. We

thoroughly enjoyed our one-bedroom condo, which had a large patio

overlooking the pools,” says Rebekah. The couple took turns visit-

ing the beach during Scarlett’s nap time, explored the eclectic city of

Santa Marta — the oldest surviving city in all of South America — and

swam in the resort pool every day (which was Scarlett’s favorite activ-

ity). “It was a wonderful week full of relaxation and fun as a family,”

says Rebekah. “The staff were accommodating and helpful, espe-

cially as we weren’t fluent in Spanish. We look forward to our next

Interval trip in the near future.”

Mountain Memories

S.L. AND PHYLLIS WALLER

TELLURIDE, COLORADO

Seasoned travelers S.L. and Phyllis Waller were thrilled when they

exchanged for a week at The River Club in Telluride, Colorado. “The

River Club, on the river in old downtown Telluride, is the best Interval

location we have visited,” says S.L. TheWallers enjoyed a range of out-

door activities in the beautiful mountain setting. They spent two days

snowshoeing in the high country, and two more exploring national

parks on hiking excursions. “We visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison

National Park and Mesa Verde National Park for some great day hikes

on two day-trips,” says S.L. “Using the Interval exchange program

allows us to go to more exciting places all over the U.S.A.” TheWallers

will be traveling again soon to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and are

looking forward to their next adventure.
