scrumptious spectrum
of original creations,
proving you can wander slightly off the
beaten path and be greatly rewarded.
THE SETTING: The Dog is as much
about its ambiance as its food. A fun and
intimate air permeates the establish-
ment. Tables proudly wear the scars
from the pens of past diners, trinkets line
the shelves, and art adorns the walls —
including a portrait of the pooch that
gave the place its name. There’s also a
lush outdoor garden with plenty of
tables with umbrellas, string lights, and
a VW minivan.
THE MENU: The restaurant is the
brainchild of Culinary Institute of
America alum Fish Morgan, so you’re in
good hands here. Nosh on out-of-the-
ordinary sandwiches (including pulled
pork that is smoked on premises),
barbecue plates, vegetarian dishes,
and Scooby Snacks (sides such as
Greek orzo salad and homemade
coleslaw). Daily specials, rotating draft
beers, and a well-rounded wine menu
complete the lineup.
THE PARTICULARS: Yellow Dog
Eats is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to
9:00 p.m., with happy hour from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. Enjoy live music Thursdays
through Saturdays 6:00 p.m. to close.
